Interior cladding on it`s way..

There are two types of wood being used - Kebonized pine and oak. The pine is very dark due to the impreg. process. By using a very rough non-woven on its surface, it will turn lighter and it`s texture will be highlighted. The other wall will be plaster painted white.

The vertical marks on the boards are from the way it is stacked during the impreg process. Maybe it turned out to be an interesting look..

The after-noon sun coming into the shower niche. These surfaces will have tiles on them, as well as the window niche.

They were halfway done in the living room, but enough to give some impression. Me, carrying the oak for the stair.

The oak floor is wrapped around the edge to become a small back wall in the wardrobe niche.

I love the way the Kebonized pine is also wrapped around the window openings. It looks so massive and rough.

Takrenne og beslag på plass..

All the windows are installed and the last layer of concrete is cast.

After a long car-trip down to Skien to get more Kebony-wood cladding, a wonderful winter-landscape awaited us. The snow is removed to start some roof work next week. It is as if the building looks bald after getting used to all that snow.

The sun-rays were really giving us an insight on how the windows allows for light into the spaces. Although the picture will be adjusted by the interior walls and surface texture and color. The concrete was cast the day before.

A view from the living-room showing the peak out through the window above the interior door and the adjacent one in the exterior wall. Nice to see the sunlight in the hallway as well through the kitchen windows.

One out of three windows in the guest room. The one with the cable coming out of it, stuffed with insulation to overcome the heat loss.

This is our bedroom. The one window on top always giving us a cloud-report.

View from bed - outer position.

View from bed, inner position. (ah, scaffolding sucks)

The cast in the hallway. The concrete will be polished in a week. And that`s when they will start on the oak stair leading up to the higher level.

A view showing the bathroom, and the corner of the hems (what is hems in english..anyone?) with the build-in ladder taking you up.

An illustration showing the two stairs in the cabin.

The floor of the hems is in place. On top of this there will be a carpet, that we haven´t decided the type yet.

Testing of heights and proportions.

Say no more :)

The only thing missing now is the metal between the windows. I wonder how fast it will turn grey. They say it only takes one season.

Finally the pair of the windows installed together.

Entrance and storage almost ready

The door is now semi-concealed by a tilted roof (same angle as the main roof, 11 and 3 degrees) and a storage space.

I was afraid the heights were to low and the proportions were to narrow, but it turned out really nice.

The red door looks as magnificent as ever.

The ceiling in the storage space is quite low at the lowest corner, but the heights are changing throughout in the same way as inside the cabin itself.

I wonder how the snow will swirl and create piles around the entrance area. Hopefully it will blow right through and keep our doorway free from snow.

This is were the ladder/stair up to the hems will be.We are working out the details on this now, but that is the last thing they will do.

Painting on the moist membrane before adding the heating cables and the top cast of concrete that will be polished.

The whole site was brushed black due to the drilling for water. They now reached 120 meters and still no water. The neighbors reassured us that they had the same situation and that by adding water and pressure connections between the whole and the underground water ores will be made. I sure hope it will snow again before our neighbors come.

Windows installed and more cladding

View towards south.

Half of the windows are installed. The black aluminum exterior side looks good.

One of the open-able windows in the guest room facing north.

A metal-plate in black will cover the corner area.

This is how it will look when the balcony door(with large window) is installed.

An unexpected ray of sunlight that will hit the back wall during the winter months when the sun is as low as now.
This is the first time we see the oak floor we ordered. Loving it..

The hems is lowered a bit and we could really see the space up there when the window was installed and the light poured in.

It is huge and can accommodate friends for a whole new years dinner party..

We decided not to have a wall separating the hems and the hallway. We are planning to use a curtain to achieve some privacy. We are starting to like the red door and are looking into different shades of red.

  A greeting from the contractor.
