Casting the concrete wall

Some vertical growth is very welcome! What you see is the cast for the concrete wall. The cast will be removed on friday this week. Now, one can more easily envision the scale of the cabin and its spaces. The contractors say that once this is finished, the outer walls and roof will be finnished during november..wow!!

It looks so tall from this angle. The main conceptual reason for the wall is expressing the level-difference between the upper and lower parts of the cabin. On the right side of the wall, there will be a small stair.

I`ve never seen these smart ones before. They make sure the concrete won`t press the sides of the cast apart. They also create a hole in the concrete in a certain pattern. I wonder how these holes usually get to look so nice in other buildings I`ve seen? Anyone?

The concrete was poured minutes before I arrived and was still wet.

A little bit above where the scaffolding is situated infront of the wall, is where the `hems` floor will be. (a deck covering the bathroom, that will serve as a small space with three mattresses.) In this pic you can also see the floor in the north part is in progress.

The I-joists placed in a grid on top of gluelam beams.

It`s fun to see how the project on "smile in pile" is growing.
