We got a terrace..

The day after i finished digging the carpenters arrived
and started erecting the construction for the terrace.

The cat seems to enjoy the new level and easy access in and out..

Some days later they arrived to fasten the kebony
terrace boards. The soil edge of the terrace will
need some more landscaping. I might use rocks to
meet the level difference.

The did a nice job cutting the boards along the rock
basin.

..and we got ourselves a new space to enjoy
the view in protection from rain and wind.

Digging the dirt..

We rediscovered the lake again since the ice had melted.

The carpenters are about to start on our veranda and we spent the weekend removing soil and rocks to get as much exposed rock basement as possible

Painting, painting, painting and snow melting..

That was the last round painting the surfaces white. The wood burning stove has not yet been fully installed through the ceiling. We tested it with a candle light though, to get the feel of it...

The sun is starting to get really hot (relative from where you are reading this) and it was enjoyed thoroughly during painting breaks...

We are not looking forward to the muddy landscape that soon will disclose itself around our cabin. We decided to by wellies for our next trip..

Kitchen counter, bed and Easter lamb..

The first night and the first mountain skitrip..

All the walls and ceiling have now been covered with plaster and is about to be coated to remove gaps.

We spent the first night in the cabin on the hems.

Our new yellow bed-side lamp is looking good.

The stove almost killed our backs.

..and the table. Finally a place to sit and eat.
We had to unpack one of the sofa elements to test it out during the weekend. But since the carpenters are still there, we had to put it back into its cardboard box.

A week ago we went skiing on the highest plateau. The weather was great and the landscape was amazing. This trip gave a whole other dimension to our cabin. We didn`t go to Jøranfisen (Jøran fart) but next time we sure will :)

Interior cladding on it`s way..

There are two types of wood being used - Kebonized pine and oak. The pine is very dark due to the impreg. process. By using a very rough non-woven on its surface, it will turn lighter and it`s texture will be highlighted. The other wall will be plaster painted white.

The vertical marks on the boards are from the way it is stacked during the impreg process. Maybe it turned out to be an interesting look..

The after-noon sun coming into the shower niche. These surfaces will have tiles on them, as well as the window niche.

They were halfway done in the living room, but enough to give some impression. Me, carrying the oak for the stair.

The oak floor is wrapped around the edge to become a small back wall in the wardrobe niche.

I love the way the Kebonized pine is also wrapped around the window openings. It looks so massive and rough.

Takrenne og beslag på plass..
