Interior walls are up!

East facade ready for windows and outdoor storage room that will be in front of the entrance door (which will not be red, but black)

Wood on the north facade as well.

The studs for the interior walls are up - very exciting to see the outline of the spaces.  Some windows are closed-in with insulation, so the spaces will have a totally different feel, once the windows are installed.

The bathroom with the hems above. We need to lower the ceiling height and maybe make a recessed ladder in the wall in order to be able to climb in.

View through the walls from corner of our bedroom.

View from guest bed, through the door and down the hall. At the end wall there will be a square window.

Second layer of studs and moist barrier is up. The hidden electricity infrastructure is being worked on at the moment.

A view from the living-room down to the entrance area and the hall-way. We are still working on the stair and entrance area and a possible see-through screen.

Wardrobe for coats etc.

The niche for the left side wardrobe area and combined stair.

Merry x-mas / God Jul fra Vikerfjell!

From all of us..

Cladding and insulation ..

We arrived to a fantastic winter landscape. But with temperatures dropping to minus 22 degrees celsius, the workers looked kind of pale :)

First part of the kebonized pine cladding. Give it one season and it will turn grey.

I have decided to use pine around the windows as well and drop aluminum. The black aluminum frames of the windows will be recessed and give a dark shadow-like expression. I can see that some will argue that one should avoid cutting the boards vertically. To avoid that one have to have different gaps between the boards and I would prefer the way they have done it.

Love this color too. This will be the color on the interior cladding in parts of the cabin, though without the gaps.

Insulation-work in progress.

I was excited to see how the sunlight enters the space and hits the concrete wall. This is only going to happen when the sun is as low as during this time of year.

Lake-view.

Mountain-view.

First layer of skin!

After the paneling of the roof was done, the first layer of skin was put up.

Living room and kitchen window openings. The opening above the veranda door will be paneled as well.

Opening for the windows in the kitchen at the same height as the counter top.

View from the hallway.

The horizontal window openings to bring in the view.

The guest room corner with two of the window openings not cut out yet.

Me checking the virtual with the real at an earlier trip.

The protected outdoor space for lots of memorable evenings.

Floors and concrete wall

We are so thrilled about the results of the concrete wall. I love the way you can see traces from how the cast was buildt. Henning is checking out the proportions of the kitchen corner. This wall will be the lowest part of the whole livingroom/kitchen space.

The cone shaped holes are very nice, but you can still see the steel reinforcing bars, so I guess they will have to be concealed somehow. It looks abit darker now with the moist and ice than what will be the case when its indoor.

The wall with fillet edges. Niiice!!

This is were the staircase will be. The wall looks sleek and nice from here. I can`t wait to see what it will be like to enter the cabin and walk up those few stairs to total bliss with the great mountain view.

The upper level is finished and they are about to start on the walls. In a couple of weeks it will be up and thats when we can really see how the spaces will be like.

Henning is testing out the sofa in the livingroom..
